Sooooooooo... Turns out British High Schools have way better graduation parties than the rest of us. Looks like parents dropped off the youngsters with booze and the party got a little crazy. THings were done. Walls were peed on. Oh yeah, and there was a huge fuckin' orgy.

"Marmaduke is about to go on a date. His owner-lady makes an unfathomably distasteful double entendre about Marmaduke's girlfriend, Snyder."

This site is a blog, wherein the author posts marmaduke comics... and then explains them. Sometimes, it's just a straight-forward explanation that is amusing due to it's unnecessary nature, observing the absurdity of the so-called 'humor'. Other times, the snark is where it's at.

Only labeled 'Wrong' because the subject matter of the comics can be challenging to some. personally, i liked it. A little tame, but there are more than enough Family Circuses out there...

Long denied, I still wonder if they will use this as an excuse to transplant a Golden Age Captain America (Steve Rogers) into mainstream Marvel continuity. I used to be against it. I like dead staying dead, PARTICULARLY when used, as Brubaker has done, to drive a much more intriguing and absorbing storytelling experience than had the character been alive... but now I think it might be interesting to see a post-terror Cap (Bucky) coesisting with a Old Timey Cap (Rogers) much the way they used to try and do with USAgent vs. Nomad. Etc.

Anyway, we'll see...

I mean, I pulled the same stunt with a Stealth Fighter model kit and got the photograph in my local paper. But really? REALLY?

One detail i DO like, however, is that TRDL is represented...

Papercraft has been showing up quite a bit here at TRDL lately, so I was reminded to share this one. A crafting girlfriend and I were in a used bookstore and she spotted a book on something called Kokigami. Both of us also being students of Japanese, we had to take a look. We guessed it would be papercraft of some sort due to the kami, which is like in origami meaning "folded paper".

It was hard to muffle the laughter, but we did to avoid being thrown out of the store.

Kokigami

This site even has a sizing page if you care to make your own kokigami "little paper costumes".

i wouldn't say that i'm a fan of lindsay lohan -- or any other faux celebrity, for that matter. people who are famous for little else than being privileged tramps don't impress me. i tend to respect actors who, you know, act. outwards from there, societal concerns (brangelina), and general standuppery (johnny d), get me further in their camp.

but i digress.

turns out lindsay's been cast as nancy pitman, one of charlie manson's devoted followers. (she was NOT part of the murder spree that made charlie as infamous as he is, btw.)

now, i've always felt that lindsay, with her long red hair and freckles, looks like a 70s porn starlet. i could totally see her letting mr. hardwick bang her with a candle for the extra money she and her pals need to go to texas to try out for the dallas cowgirls. also, she seems ... well, let's just say it -- dumb as a sack of butter. so i think casting her as one of the brainwashed followers of papa charlie is perfect casting. in fact, this is the kind of role that could define her career. wait. i mean "GIVE her a career." my bad. but you see what i'm saying. she may end up being more than a celebu-tramp after all!
